How to Sew a Quilted Puffy Scarf- DIY Sewing Tutorial from Art Gallery Fabrics-The Creative Blog

Hello Makers,

Are you staying warm? With Minnesota reaching well into the negative degrees Fahrenheit, having to go outside is chilling to the bone. Anytime it's winter, I always take the opportunity to use Art Gallery Fabrics substrates, because they are just the best to sew with. While I was looking through my fabric stash, I saw these lovely rayon prints in “Manhattan’s Foliage” by Bari J., “Honey”, and “Soleil Stripes” that I had to use! I was inspired by all the puffy accessories being created that I thought it would be a great idea to create my ...

Stitching and Sewing and Smiling from Life in the Scrapatch

Tonight I am sitting and sewing and stitching and smiling.

It has been a heart warming week visiting all the beautiful hearts in the

Hearts On Fire Blog Hop @ Just Let Me Quilt

and I started reminiscing today.

So I pulled out this keepsake box I made long ago.

In it are photos and mementos like the tiny school portraits

of my children when they were young.

I am adding a few more recent treasures to this box tonight.

This was made seven years ago for

on the road again from Charm About You

Spider web blocks are not the fastest quilt blocks I've ever constructed and this quilt has taken me quite a while to complete. It was put away for a while but it is enjoyable seeing the pattern emerges as it grows and this was the year to get it done. I made the first few blocks as part of the Art Gallery Fabrics Quilt Block Collection Blog Tour back in 2017 and had only made 10 blocks when I pulled it out.

I got to work only to realise that I would run out of fabric. This quilt is ...

A Winter Wonderland: Snow Day Fabrics from Art Gallery Fabrics-The Creative Blog

Happy Friday!

Living in Florida, I never really experienced a whole Winter season! I’ve traveled up north before just to see the snow, and although I’ve experienced it a small number of times, seeing the snowfall for the first time is truly something magical. I automatically associate the winter season with things that I love most, hot chocolate, being with family, Christmas, and warm fuzzy sweaters. So, when I saw the Snow Day fabric collection by Mister Domestic, I was so thrilled to see so many prints that captured these special memories.

Now for the past couple of ...

Quilting Tips- Learn to Strip Piece Three Different Ways from Art Gallery Fabrics-The Creative Blog

Hello Makers,

When I first started quilting I had no idea how to cut fabric for quilting and using a rotary blade and quilting ruler was so foreign to me coming out of fashion design school. Every time I would cut out my pieces they would end up being a bit too small and wonky but that didn’t stop me from tackling all the tips and techniques I could find about quilting. Weirdly enough I starting designing quilts on the computer before I even new how to put one together, which if you are starting out I definitely don ...
